WEST COUNTRY RETURN

In November 2020, during the height of the COVID pandemic, my wife and I returned to the West of England. The enforced isolation of a two-week quarantine in the place of our birth provided a unique opportunity for long, country walks navigating the many public footpaths, towns and cities in the Cotwolds and surrounding areas.

Walking through fields & crossing over stiles, I tried to capture the essence of the place with its narrow country lanes and sweeping landscapes. As is typical, the UK weather was “challenging”.  Most days were cold and cloudy with intermittent rain and “sunny spells”.
